Registered Nurse to
Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program

The RN to BSN Degree Program was begun in 1986 and has been accredited since its inception. Developed as a response to the rapidly changing health care environment, the program accepts currently licensed registered nurses who have graduated from associate degree and/or diploma nursing programs that meet university transfer policies. The individualized curriculum has been developed with an understanding of the needs and experiences of registered nurses.

Graduates of Associate Degree and Diploma programs, who are registered nurses, are eligible to earn credit for selected nursing courses through portfolio review, or challenge exam. The School of Nursing complies with university policy regarding fees for challenge examinations and validation of prior learning.

Graduates of Associate Degree and Diploma programs, who are registered nurses, may receive up to 30 hours of Belmont University credit for previous nursing courses (with grades of C or above). These credits will be awarded after the student enrolls in and successfully completes (with grades of C or better) ten (10) credit hours in university nursing courses.
