Major in Musical Theatre BFA

The Musical Theatre Major is designed for students who exhibit exceptional performance potential in musical theatre. This degree program provides concentrated study in singing, acting and dance for students interested in pursuing performance careers in musical theatre.

Dance Requirements 

A total of 14 hours in Dance is required for this degree. One of the hours, however, is counted as meeting the activity component of the Wellness requirement in the BELL Core.

Musical Theatre majors will take dance courses in at least 3 different styles selected from the courses listed below:
Ballet I, Ballet II, Ballet III, Jazz I, Jazz II, Jazz III, Modern I, Modern II, Modern III, Tap I, Tap II, Tap III, Theatre Dance I
Students should take level II and III classes in at least two different dance styles.
