Mission Statement

The Mike Curb College of Entertainment and Music Business strives to combine academic experience with real world applications and seeks to achieve its mission by implementing innovative courses of study in the entertainment and music industries.

Goals

The Mike Curb College of Entertainment and Music Business has the following goals:

  • To provide a personalized, career-oriented and practical education that emphasizes leadership, innovation, private enterprise and entrepreneurship.
  • To equip students with the tools to think critically, communicate effectively, accept responsibility, make successful decisions, and prosper in diverse work environments.
  • To emphasize quality classroom instruction within the parameters of ethical Christian principles.

Audio Engineering Technology

The College of Entertainment and Music Business offers graduate courses in Audio Engineering Technology that are currently utilized as required and elective study in the Master of Music (M.M.) Commercial Music curriculum.  Students in the M.M. degree program should refer to the Graduate Studies in Music bulletin pages for requirements and policies of the Master of Music (M.M.) Commercial Music curriculum.

Entertainment and Music Business

The College of Entertainment and Music Business offers an elective track specialization in Entertainment and Music Business within the Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree program.  Students in this elective track specialization option within the M.B.A. degree program should refer to the Graduate Studies in Business bulletin pages for requirements and policies.

  • Purpose:  Through active learning and scholarly exploration the Master of Business Administration degree with a specialization in entertainment and music business is designed to prepare individuals for career advancement in mid- and upper-level administrative and managerial positions in the entertainment and music business.
  • Goals:  The goals of the M.B.A. with a specialization in entertainment and music business are to (1) provide students with a broad view of essential business functions through business core courses and (2) allow the student to gain in-depth knowledge of the entertainment and music business through a flexible choice of elective courses.
  • Admissions:  In addition to the application process for admission to the M.B.A. program, candidates for the electives option in Music Business will also meet with the Admissions Specialist in the Mike Curb College of Entertainment and Music Business to assist in the development of an appropriate course plan to meet each candidate's career goals.
