The Department of Sport Science offers majors in Exercise Science (B.S.) and Sport Administration (B.A. or B.S.), as well as minors in Nutrition, Sport Administration, Sports Medicine, and Strength & Conditioning.


Major in Exercise Science

The major in exercise science is designed to give students the background and expertise to pursue a career in a health of fitness related field. The major also prepares students for graduate study in exercise science. This major does not lead to teacher certification.

Major in Sport Administration

The Sport Administration program prepares students to become practitioners in this unique field by engaging them in real-world experiences. Reflecting the diversity of the profession, Sport Administration is an interdisciplinary degree with elective course work in Communication Studies, Media Studies, and Public Relations, as well as core Sport Administration classes endorsed by the North American Society for Sport Management and the Commission on Sport Management Accreditation. The program provides hands-on engagement through internship and capstone experiences.
