Major in Performance
Voice

The Performance Major is planned for students who exhibit exceptional potential as performers in their principal applied area.  The program provides training for those desiring careers as professional performers and/or studio teachers.  It is the best preparation for graduate study with emphasis in performance.  The table below lists required coursework for students in this major whose applied area is voice.

1 Seven (7) of the total 24 hours of language will be met through the Bell Core-four hours (4) through the humanities requirement, and the 3 hours through the 3 hour non-music elective requirement. If 2000 level languages are taken (which carry 3 hours credit instead of 4), extra hours are taken as electives.

2 No more than 24 hours in voice may be counted toward degree requirements.

3 Secondary Piano study must be continued until the piano proficiency is passed.
